MedFlight is a not-for-profit, CAMTS accredited air and ground critical care transportation company based in Columbus, Ohio that completes nearly 7,000 critical care transports by helicopter and Mobile Intensive Care unit each year.
MedFlight is governed by our owner healthcare networks: OhioHealth and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center; with additional support from affiliate-member Kettering Health Network. MedFlight also has affiliate partnerships with Adena Health System, Barnesville Hospital, Berger Health System, Holzer Health System, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital as well as multiple pre-hospital agencies.
Although MedFlight is owned by a consortium of hospitals, we transport patients to the most appropriate facility. We transport scene patients to the closest appropriate trauma center. For other patients, the referring and receiving physician decide upon the most appropriate destination and mode of transport.
