Human Patient Simulator
MedFlight has purchased the METI Emergency Care Stimulator (ECS) training mannequin. This emergency care simulator provides the opportunity for advanced training in trauma and critical care patient care. The METI Emergency Care Simulator represents the latest simulation technology for training clinicians at all levels of medical education. Sophisticated mathematical models of human physiology and pharmacology automatically determines the patients’ response to user actions and interventions. With dynamic coupling of the cardiovascular, pulmonary and pharmacological models along with the physical embodiment of the mannequin, the ECS allows for the complete characterization of an adult patient.
The ECS is used to train in-house medical crews on cutting edge technology and advanced treatment of acute medical conditions. The Education Center created a virtual lab at the Columbus base headquarters to assist in the training of in-house medical crews, outside EMS, and other agencies. MedFlight has also created a mobile education truck that will bring the simulation training to your location.
If you are interested in having the simulator for training, please fill out our Lecture Request Form and someone from the Education Center will get back to you.
Mobile Outreach Education Simulator
We are passionate about Education and MedFlight's Mobile Outreach Education Simulation Lab combines a high fidelity classroom with state-of-the-art simulation. It is part of our “value-added” mission. It is what seperates us form being just a company that is trying to complete transports. We find teaching to be both fulfilling and intellectually rewarding. Our goal is to assist those working on the front lines - providing direct patient care, in reaching their full potential.
This can be accomplished by encouraging, and providing both our crews and those that we serve with an increased knowledge base. Education is the most powerful tool for empowering medical clinicians with the resources they need to provide the most competent and professional care to their patient’s. By instilling in the practitioners for whom we serve, an excitement about their own personal educational development, while encouraging a healthy competition among their colleagues - for the advancement of their own expert competency, we believe we can achieve our ultimate goal of improved patient outcomes.
Simulation is one of the best tools available for developing professional proficiency. Not only is it important to constantly strive for an increase in our own personal medical knowledge base, we must also be able to apply that knowledge in the clinical setting. Application knowledge is the highest level of comprehension. Simulation can be instrumental in developing that knowledge.
The ‘Metiman’ patient simulator that we take to our customers for training, provides opportunities for advanced training in acute trauma and critical patient care. It represents the latest in simulation technology and can instruct clinicians at all levels of medical education. Sophisticated mathematical models of human physiology and pharmacology automatically determine the patients’ response to user actions and interventions. With dynamic coupling of the cardiovascular, pulmonary and pharmacological models, along with the physical embodiment of the mannequin and monitor, the simulator allows for the complete characterization of an adult patient.
The Mobile Outreach Education Simulator is available for countywide and regional training. Please contact the Education Department for more information.
